Sandia National Laboratories of Livermore, Calif., and Monsanto Co. of St. Louis have announced a three-year research collaboration in which the former’s imaging and analytical technologies will aid the latter’s development of seed-based products for bioenergy and food applications. The alliance initially will focus on hyperspectral fluorescence imaging and spectral analysis to aid in the study of plant tissue samples. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
