Fuji Photo Film Co. Ltd. has invested $8.3 million in Perseus Proteomics Inc. Together, the Tokyo-based companies will focus on developing a medical material by combining Fuji’s proprietary materials with an imaging technique that enables visualization of biomolecules. They plan to develop a diagnostic system using disease-related biomarkers and to discover drug candidate compounds. Fuji believes that the investment will facilitate its full entry into the antibody therapeutics market.
