The Centre Suisse d’Electronique et
de Microtechnique (CSEM) SA will spearhead the Plasmonic Innovative Sensing in the
Infrared project, which has been awarded a €2.8 million grant from the European
Union. The grant will run for three years. The project, begun Jan. 1, 2010, will
create ultrasensitive chemical sensors and smarter, cheaper IR photodetectors for
the marketplace. CSEM will coordinate and facilitate the technology transfer between
academic partners and small and medium enterprises.
