QuantaSol Ltd. of Kingston-upon-Thames, UK, has announced that it will move into pilot production following a successful period of global customer sampling. The independent manufacturer of tunable ultrahigh-efficiency concentrated photovoltaic solar cells has been sampling with customers across Europe, Asia and the US for several months and has worked closely with leading vendors to enhance its systems by maximizing energy harvest. To date, the company has accumulated an order book of more than 1 MW of cells, which are expected to be delivered through the first half of 2011.
