JPK Expands Operations in Asia

BERLIN, Feb. 25, 2011 — JPK Instruments announced the expansion of its operations in Asia with new staff in Singapore and distributors in Korea and Malaysia to increase its support to users.

Dr. Philip Yj Lui was appointed as the new applications specialist at the company’s Asian office, headquartered in Singapore. Lui’s research has included protein-induced DNA bending, compaction of DNA in white spot syndrome virus, DNA binding and ionic switching, as well as many other life science-related applications. While doing his research, Lui gained experience using AFM and building a magnetic tweezers system.

In addition to the appointment of Lui, the company has added an exclusive representative in Korea. Privately-held Lotis Korea supplies scientific instrumentation. Its experienced team also specializes in the electron and optical microscopy markets.

KL Analytical Sdn Bhd was appointed in Malaysia as JPK’s exclusive representative. Also a privately-held company, KL Analytical supplies a range of scientific equipment to both the academic and industrial research community.

The appointments will help the company to expand its markets in Asia, providing increased application and service support to its increasing user base.
