Movies taken through a microscope will be accepted as a new category in the 37th Annual Nikon Small World Photomicrography Competition sponsored by Nikon Instruments Inc. based in Melville, N.Y. Titled “Small World in Motion,” this class of entries encompasses any movie or digital time-lapse photography taken with a microscope. The movies will be judged as a separate category. “Small World in Motion” will honor the technical expertise of bio- and industrial-focused scientists who use digital time-lapse photography to study areas such as the movement of microscopic organisms.
