Universal Display Corp. has established a subsidiary in Japan to better serve and support the needs of its organic LED (OLED) display and white lighting customers and partners. The new company, Universal Display Corp. Japan KK, is based in Tokyo and will expand on the support that the company’s representative, Ichiro Nakagawa, and N’s Network provided in Japan for more than 15 years. Dr. Kentaro Harada has been appointed technical accounts manager. “By establishing a subsidiary in Japan, Universal Display can now support its OLED customers and partners with enhanced technical interface and communications in Japan,” said Steven V. Abramson, president and CEO. “Following the formation of our Korean subsidiary, this office further extends the company’s footprint in Asia and better enables us to serve each of our display and lighting customers with our portfolio and proprietary OLED technologies.” Universal Display also licenses OLED technologies, sells its proprietary UniversalPHOLED materials and provides customized technology development services.
