Genesis Photonics to Increase HB-LED Production

PLAINVIEW, N.Y., June 16, 2011 — Veeco Instruments Inc. announced that Genesis Photonics Inc. has placed a multiunit order for its recently released TurboDisc MaxBright multireactor metallorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) system. The Taiwan-based Genesis Photonics will use the systems to increase capacity for the production of high-brightness LEDs (HB LEDs) being driven by applications in backlighting, lighting, displays and automotive. The MaxBright system is available in a two- or four-reactor cluster architecture and delivers up to a 500 percent productivity gain and a 2.5x increase in footprint...Read full article
