A supplier of cylindrical photovoltaic systems for large commercial rooftops, Solyndra International AG of Baar, Switzerland, a subsidiary of Solyndra LLC of Fremont, Calif., announced that the Solyndra 200 series rooftop solar systems are eligible for the French simplified building integrated solar photovoltaic (BIPV) tariff because of their unique design and synergy with rooftop construction. Self-ballasted and nonattached, they meet previous wind and fire standards and can withstand winds up to 208 km/h on slightly tilted rooftops. They are Broof (t3) classified, one of the few photovoltaic systems rated to this class, which is important to the solar market in France.
