The Life Sciences & Instrumentation Div. of Gooch & Housego based in Orlando, Fla., has announced that its handheld OL 731 USB smart detector was featured in the June 22, 2011, episode of the Discovery Channel’s Mythbusters. The segment, titled “Let There Be Light,” tested whether an underground chamber can be illuminated via light reflected off mirrors, much as in a scene from the movie The Mummy. The OL 731 is a radiometer/photometer that can be tailored to the spectral response of the user’s application requirements by employing a range of sensors and filters.
