Flir Nets $21M Medevac Order

Flir Systems Inc. announced it has received a $20.9 million delivery order from the US Army for its Star Safire II stabilized multisensor systems, to support the Army’s Medevac program.

The units will be used on the Army Medevac UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Work will be performed at the company’s Wilsonville, Ore., facility with deliveries expected to be completed within the next 12 months.

Flir manufactures advanced thermal imaging and threat detection systems for imaging, thermography and security applications, including airborne and ground-based surveillance, condition monitoring, R&D, drug inspection and explosives detection.
