Rofin-Sinar Opens New Subsidiary in India

PLYMOUTH, Mich., Nov. 2, 2011 — To meet the demands of its growing Indian markets, laser source and laser-based system solutions manufacturer Rofin-Sinar Technologies Inc. has announced the incorporation of a subsidiary in India.

The new firm, Rofin Baasel Laser India Pvt. Ltd., is located in Mumbai and commenced operation in October. It has taken full responsibility for sales and service of all Rofin laser products in India.

“The Indian economy with attractive GDP growth rates will become increasingly important for our future business,” said Günther Braun, CEO and president of Rofin-Sinar. “There are many opportunities for new production technologies, and the Indian market offers a wide variety of industries, such as the automotive and subsupplier industries, the electronics industry as well as the jewelry market, in which our different laser products are applied.”
