NOZAY, France, Nov. 29, 2011 — Optical components maker 3S Photonics Group acquired Manlight SAS with help from parent company Eurazeo. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Manlight, of Lannion, formerly Highwave Optical Technologies, manufactures high power fiber ooptic amplifiers and lasers for telecommunications. It was founded in 2006 and has 30 employees.

Eurazeo, which bought a majority share of 3S in October, helped complete the deal. Manlight founder and CTO Eric Delevaque will be general manager of the new company, which will operate as a subsidiary of 3S Photonics Group.
