Photonics Spectra
Mar 2012
Materion Microelectronics & Services, a unit of Materion Corp. of Mayfield Heights, Ohio, has completed a 50 percent capacity expansion of its Wheatfield, N.Y., facility. The site provides precision parts cleaning and surface treatment of physical vapor deposition shield kits for manufacturers of photovoltaics, medical consumables, LEDs and wireless products. The expansion includes a fully automated robotic twin wire arc spray, new cleaning processes, increased precious metals refining capacity and a Class 10,000 certified cleanroom. Materion, through its wholly owned subsidiaries, supplies advanced enabling materials such as specialty metals, coatings and engineered beryllium alloys.

An area in which airborne particulates can be monitored and controlled so that given size particles do not exceed a specified concentration, thereby eliminating potential dysfunctions in gyroscopes, ball bearings and other materials and lubricants.
