PicoQuant Hires 2 for Sales Team

BERLIN, March 14, 2012 — In response to continued growth and business development, optoelectronics company PicoQuant GmbH has added two laser specialists to its sales and marketing team. Dr. Susanne Trautmann joined the company at the beginning of this year as an application specialist in advanced microscopic techniques. Her experience in various technologies, most notably in vivo fluorescence (cross-) correlation spectroscopy and fluorescence lifetime imaging, will strengthen PicoQuant’s confocal microscopy and spectroscopy systems sales and customer support. She previously worked at EMBL Heidelberg. ...Read full article

    fluorescence lifetime imaging
Fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM) is an advanced imaging technique that provides information about the lifetime of fluorescence emissions from fluorophores within a sample. Unlike traditional fluorescence imaging, which relies on the intensity of emitted light, FLIM focuses on the time a fluorophore remains in its excited state before returning to the ground state. This fluorescence lifetime is influenced by the local environment and can be used for various applications in biological and...
    optoelectronics
Optoelectronics is a branch of electronics that focuses on the study and application of devices and systems that use light and its interactions with different materials. The term "optoelectronics" is a combination of "optics" and "electronics," reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of this field. Optoelectronic devices convert electrical signals into optical signals or vice versa, making them crucial in various technologies. Some key components and applications of optoelectronics include: ...
    photonics
The technology of generating and harnessing light and other forms of radiant energy whose quantum unit is the photon. The science includes light emission, transmission, deflection, amplification and detection by optical components and instruments, lasers and other light sources, fiber optics, electro-optical instrumentation, related hardware and electronics, and sophisticated systems. The range of applications of photonics extends from energy generation to detection to communications and...
