Laser Targeting System Is Soldier Bound

London-based BAE Systems received a $23 million contract from the US Army to provide lightweight handheld Laser Target Locator Modules (LTLMs). BAE Systems’ TRIGR system enables soldiers to quickly and accurately identify target locations while on foot, both in daylight and at night, and in obscured-visibility conditions such as smoke or fog. For production of the LTLM systems, the company initially was awarded a $72 million contract in 2009 from the US Army’s Program Executive Office Soldier.
