LPKF Sees Demand Spike for PCB-Cutting Lasers
Machine and laser systems manufacturer LPKF Laser & Electronics AG has reported an upswing in the demand for printed circuit board (PCB)-cutting laser systems.
Orders for the product line have already reached more than €10 million (about $12.3 million) after only five months — sales of the systems in 2011 were about €6 million, the company said.
The ultraviolet laser cutting systems can precisely cut single-PCBs in any shape from a larger multi-image board. They require no mechanical tools or complex clamping systems.
