QBotix Receives $1M DoE Grant for Solar Robots

MENLO PARK, Calif., Nov. 28, 2012 — QBotix has received a $1 million development award under a government-funded initiative to develop more solar robots. The award, part of the $10 million SunShot Incubator Program sponsored by the US Department of Energy (DoE), will help fund the development of a new generation of robots for the QBotix Tracking System (QTS), which, the company says, lowers the levelized cost of energy at large-scale power plants by up to 20 percent.
