Source Photonics Names Doug Wright President, CEO

Doug Wright has been appointed president and CEO of Source Photonics, effective immediately, the optical communication products supplier announced Tuesday.

Wright succeeds current CEO Dr. Near Margalit, who has taken the newly created chief product officer position.

Before joining the company, Wright served as the group president of United Technologies for five years and was based primarily in Shanghai. Most recently, he led the company’s Automation and Controls Solutions group. Before that, he spent 15 years at Ingersoll Rand, holding several leadership roles, including president of Asia for the Security Technologies group.

Margalit, who helped grow the company over the past 10 years, will oversee all aspects of technology and product development in his new role as chief product officer.

“With the addition of Doug to the management team, Near will refocus his energy on developing cutting-edge products and driving continuous improvement in quality to further accelerate the company’s growth,” said Keith Geeslin, a director for Source Photonics and partner for Francisco Partners, a private equity firm and lead investor in the company.
