With the appointment of William Culpi as engineering chief, PI (Physik Instrumente) USA of Auburn, Mass., has extended support for its PI miCos precision positioning products. Culpi formerly was vice president of engineering at miCos USA. PixelTeq, formerly Ocean Thin Films, has selected Marco Snikkers as director of sales and marketing in Europe. His background is in spectroscopy and semiconductors. Amir Moshar has joined the West Coast technical sales team of Asylum Research in Santa Barbara, Calif. He has served the company for more than nine years in various technical positions. Lake Qin was named director of sales in China for California-based GigOptix Inc., a fabless supplier of semiconductor and optical components for high-speed information streaming. He brings to the position more than 15 years of communications experience. Laser Light Engines Inc. has appointed David J. Parent vice president of finance and chief financial officer. The Salem, N.H., company manufactures laser-driven illumination engines and color modules for digital projection. Industry trade group AIA has appointed Kyle Voosen (left) and Steve Mott (right) global ambassadors for its program to educate and support the growth of the vision and imaging industry.
