Former SPIE President in Tech Hall of Fame

STONY BROOK, N.Y., March 12, 2014 — Ralph James, regarded as a pioneer in optical and photonics technology development for hi-res spectroscopy and imaging, is the latest to be inducted into the Long Island Technology Hall of Fame. Former president of SPIE and a current SPIE Fellow, James is a senior scientist and group leader in the Nonproliferation & National Security Department at Brookhaven National Laboratory, where he conducts basic and applied research on novel materials, electro-optical devices, imaging systems and instrumentation.
