Frank Weiss has been named general manager for Gooch & Housego PLC's operations in Orlando. Previously Weiss was vice president of advanced systems at Emcore Corp., with business responsibility for R&D, operations and marketing of advanced systems products, a product line consisting of microwave and RF photonics, fiber optic gyroscopes, terahertz imaging and analysis technology, and fiber optic video transport. Earlier roles include senior director of microwave specialty products and senior director of product strategy and business development. He also directed the cable TV and specialty products business unit at JDS Uniphase Corp. Gooch & Housego manufactures light measurement equipment, including LED test and measurement systems, spectroradiometers, integrating spheres, spectral imaging and synthesis, imaging photometers, colorimeters, radiometers and photometers, and calibration standards and services.
