Continental AG Acquires Auto Lidar Division of ASC

SANTA BARBARA, Calif., March 28, 2016 — Mobility, transport and processing technology firm Continental AG will acquire the ASCar division — which develops lidar systems for the automotive industry — of Advanced Scientific Concepts LLC (ASC). With the acquisition, Continental plans to mass-produce flash lidars at an affordable price to support the commercial automotive industry.
