Oct 2016
SHANGHAI — Jenoptik Precision Instrument and Equipment Co. Ltd. has installed its industrial JenLas femto 16 laser at the new laser application laboratory of Raylase Laser Technology Co. Ltd. in Shenzhen, China, allowing the joint development of applications solutions for Chinese customers.

This installation allows customers to benefit from an extended performance range by the two companies, as well as the ability to offer more complex solutions in the future such as laser sources, optical components, beam analysis and process control.

“The bundling of our business strength and technology know-how forms an ideal basis to provide comprehensive solutions to our customers, to respond even better to the needs of the market and enables us to realize customer-specific laser application solutions,” said Dennis He, senior sales manager for Jenoptik’s laser business in China. “With the equipment in the application laboratory, we are able to offer customers the opportunity to directly experience our comprehensive laser competence portfolio in use. That will help us to meet their demands as best as possible.”

Jenoptik provides solutions for micromachining applications ranging from laser sources to optics and micro-optics to optoelectronics. Raylase develops and manufactures galvanometer-scanner based components and submodules for laser beam deflection, modulation and control.

Tiny (less than 2 mm in diameter) lenses, beamsplitters and other optical components used, for example, in endoscopes or microscopes or to focus light from semiconductor lasers and optical fibers.
A sub-field of photonics that pertains to an electronic device that responds to optical power, emits or modifies optical radiation, or utilizes optical radiation for its internal operation. Any device that functions as an electrical-to-optical or optical-to-electrical transducer. Electro-optic often is used erroneously as a synonym.
