JUSTINE MURPHY, SENIOR EDITOR, justine.murphy@photonics.com

Global economies and trade have found themselves in flux in the wake of changes in leadership in some countries as well as the U.K.’s exit from the European Union. The potential impacts of each have yet to be fully realized; however, strengthened alliances and economic development are bolstering trade relations between European and Asia-Pacific nations, offering optimism that collaboration between the two regions will drive mutual success.

Justine MurphyIn this issue, we examine partnerships in trade that are boosting market growth in Europe and in the Asia-Pacific countries, the role such ties and trade are playing in the photonics sector, and implications for the global market. “Alliances Set to Strengthen Europe-APAC Trade Relations” (read article).
