Barlow Appointed SVP of Lumileds Illumination
Steve Barlow has been appointed the senior vice president of lighting solutions developer Lumileds’ illumination division.
Barlow rejoins Lumileds from Cree Inc., where he served as senior vice president of sales and business development, responsible for the lighting division’s products, channels and revenue growth. He first joined Lumileds in 2003, helping to build its LED lighting business. He also served as the chief commercial officer at Intematix Corp., where he was responsible for all commercial functions including global sales, marketing, application engineering, customer service, business development and distribution. In total, Barlow has more than 25 years of sales, marketing and business development experience in the semiconductor and LED lighting industry.
Lumileds is a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Philips. Philips announced in December that it signed an agreement to sell a majority interest in Lumileds to certain funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management LLC. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2017.
Lumileds develops, manufactures and distributes LEDs and automotive lighting products.
