Langston, Stannard Appointed to Ocean Optics Sales and Marketing Team

LARGO, Fla., Jan. 18, 2018 — Optical sensing solutions provider Ocean Optics Inc. has appointed two new executives to its sales and marketing team.

Henry Langston has been promoted to vice president of strategic marketing, and Christine Stannard has been appointed vice president of global sales.

Langston will head the company’s marketing team to develop brand initiatives that support the promotion and sale of the company’s optical sensing products. Stannard is responsible for leading sales staff based at the company’s locations in the U.S., Europe, China and India managing its worldwide distributor network.

Both Langston and Stannard are responsible for accelerating development of the company’s range of spectrometers, multispectral sensing and imaging products, chemical sensors, analytical instrumentation and accessories. They will collaborate closely with customers, application engineers and partner companies to identify health, safety and environmental market-specific applications for the company’s existing products while developing new, disruptive technologies.

Langston joined Ocean Optics’ parent company, Halma, as part of the Halma Graduate Development Program. After completing rotations at several Halma companies, he accepted a position as product manager at Ocean Optics in 2016. He was subsequently promoted to country manager for the U.K. and Ireland. Most recently, Langston lead the development of the Wave Illumination internal startup. He is a graduate of the University of Sydney, with degrees in aerospace engineering and art history. He is currently pursuing an executive MBA degree at the University of Cambridge.

Stannard brings more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience to her new role. Prior to joining Ocean Optics, she held executive titles at Panasonic Healthcare Corp. of North America, where she was responsible for sales and marketing of the company’s laboratory equipment and service solutions for life science, pharmaceutical, clinical and industrial markets. Her early career included marketing leadership roles at NEC Technologies and Double Time Corp. Stannard holds an MBA from Dominican University, where she is now a member of its board of advisors for the Brennan School of Business at Dominican. She completed her undergraduate studies at Southern Illinois University.

Ocean Optics is a supplier of spectral solutions for optical sensing such as chemical sensors, analytical instrumentation, optical fibers and optics.
