SemiConductor Devices Acquires Quantum Imaging

HAIFA, Israel, Feb. 14, 2018 — SemiConductor Devices (SCD) has acquired Colorado-based imaging solutions company Quantum Imaging (QI) Inc.

SCD is a global leader in the development and manufacturing of a wide range of cooled and uncooled infrared detectors and high-power laser diodes. Quantum Imaging specializes in design, development and production of high-performance visible SWIR cameras for a range of military, industrial and scientific applications.

The acquisition is intended to strengthen and expand SCD’s SWIR-related activities in the U.S. defense and homeland security markets while positioning itself toward dismounted soldier systems, armored fighting vehicles, unmanned systems, long-range observation solutions and others.

Quantum Imaging is a developer of camera solutions for high-performance imaging applications. SCD develops and manufactures a full spectrum of IR detectors and laser diodes.
