SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 10 -- HD FiberSystems, manufacturer of fiber optics components and integrated optical modules, announced that it has formed a worldwide distribution network by signing distribution agreements with major fiber optic distributors in Japan, Israel, Korea, India, France, the United Kingdom and Italy. These signed contracts mark the expansion of HD's business scope in Europe and Asia. These new partners will develop distribution channels for HD's WDM modules and a full range of components to the growing market in their respective territories.
"The market trend of optical networks in Asia and Europe will keep growing, especially in Asia, due to the deregulation, governments and telecommunication companies are zealously deploying fiber optical networks," said Nelson Wang, HD's vice president of sales and marketing. "To have partners in the major Asian countries is ideal for our growth strategy."
HD lines with El-Gev Electronics in Israel, Radiosound in India, Tera Tech in Korea, and Sun Instruments in Japan to explore the rapidly growing fiber optical network market in Asia.
In Europe, HD has selected to collaborate with BFi Optilas in Italy, and Absys in France. Absys is well experienced and has proven record in distributing fiber optical products in France. BFi, based in Rome, with subsidiaries in seven European countries, is recognized as one of the largest optical product distributor in Europe.
