SEONGNAM, South Korea, Aug. 7, 2024 — Luxolis, a 3D machine vision startup, plans to open an R&D center in Chuncheon, South Korea. The facility will serve as a hub for advanced R&D for Luxolis' capabilities in AI-driven 3D vision and industrial automation technologies.

Luxolis is focused on the development of solutions targeting 3D reconstruction. The company's SceneCap 3D system is a portable device used to create hyper-realistic 3D replicas of environments and objects by scanning indoor and outdoor spaces, according to the company's website. Its 3D Scan App technology is used to create 3D scans of rooms or objects by using the lidar scanner on mobile devices. The company's technology platforms support applications including precision manufacturing and robotics navigation.
