Photovoltaic wholesaler and solar power plant constructor AE Photonics GmbH & Co. KG has announced the opening of an office in Athens, Greece, in late August.

A 100 percent subsidiary of AE Photonics, AE Photonics Hellas Ltd. promotes the distribution of modules and inverters in Greece; it will also enter into the project development business at a later date. The new organization is managed by Ilias Tsonis.

“Greece is the logical next step for us after Italy and Morocco, on the one hand due to the sunshine duration of almost 2,940 hours per year, and on the other hand because, in 2004, Greece enacted a law promoting photovoltaic investments, planning an investment increase of up to 40 percent as a result of the relevant modifications,” said Marco Lamsouguer, founder and managing director of AE Photonics.
