AIA Appoints Global Ambassadors

ANN ARBOR, Mich., April 1, 2013 — Industry trade group AIA has appointed Kyle Voosen and Steve Mott as global ambassadors for its program to educate and support the growth of the vision and imaging industry.

“The importance of machine vision and imaging technologies continues to spread throughout the world,” said AIA President Jeff Burnstein. “While some markets are established, others are still growing. AIA understands the need to support the growth of these markets and our global ambassadors help us do that.”

Ambassadors meet with industry and association leaders in their assigned region to gain feedback on how AIA can assist in growing the vision industry in their area. The ambassadors also serve as a communication link between their region and the trade group’s board of directors.

Voosen, based in Newbury, UK, will serve as the ambassador to Europe. He has worked at National Instruments for more than 12 years and currently serves as director of marketing at National Instruments UK and Ireland. His experience includes working with imaging and embedded control systems, managing vision strategies and developing partnerships throughout the world. He was elected to the AIA board in 2012.

Mott, the vice president of Components Express, will serve as the ambassador to South America from his base in Woodbridge, Ill. He has traveled to more than 30 countries to attend trade shows and business conferences to support industry issues and help advance industry standards. He was elected to the AIA board in 2012.

The men join Keith Reuben, president of Teledyne Dalsa Asia-Pacific, who will continue in his role as ambassador to Asia. Reuben brings more than 20 years of experience in the imaging industry, having served in various operational and strategic functions. He founded Coreco Imaging and has been president of Teledyne Dalsa Asia-Pacific since 2006. He is based in Tokyo and has served on the AIA board since 2005.
