Accudyne to Develop Laser-Based Glass Separation System
The US Display Consortium has awarded a contract to develop a laser-based glass separation system to Accudyne Corp. of Palm Bay, Fla. The new technology is expected to provide improved speed, better accuracy and increased edge strength than current glass separation technologies. The consortium has earmarked $2.25 million for the system's development, with Accudyne picking up another $2.25 million. The equipment is scheduled for installation at beta sites in 1998.
