Under a $1.08 million contract from Lockheed Martin of Bethesda, Md., Aculight Corp. will deliver a rugged, compact, diode-pumped solid-state laser for the US Army’s Non-Line-of-Sight -- Launch System Science and Technology Program. The device will be used as an infrared source for the laser radar seeker in the loitering attack missile. It will enable soldiers to search wide areas with a loitering munition and to perform automatic target recognition in adverse weather. Aculight is based in Bothell, Wash.
