Agilent Technologies Inc. of Santa Clara, Calif., has acquired Colloidal Dynamics, a Warwick, R.I., supplier of particle analysis instruments, and has signed an agreement to acquire Till Photonics GmbH of Gräfelfing, Germany, a supplier of products for fluorescence microscopy. Both companies will join Agilent’s Materials Science Solutions Unit, which is part of its Life Science and Chemical Analysis business. Financial details were not disclosed. Subject to certain closing conditions, the Till Photonics acquisition was expected to be final at the end of March.

In other news, Agilent has enhanced its gas chromatography (GC) and GC/mass spectrometer platform to improve the analysis of complex mixtures, to reduce cost and complexity, and to make qualitative and quantitative capabilities accessible to more laboratories.
