The FDA has granted clearance to Alma Lasers Ltd. of Chicago, a laser-, light- and radio-frequency-based aesthetic device provider, for use of its Pixel carbon dioxide Omnifit handpiece, an upgrade to current CO2 skin resurfacing lasers for treatment of aged, sun-damaged or acne-scarred skin. The device fits onto most CO2 lasers and produces better results while reducing side effects. Recovery time is also decreased from 30 to three days.
