Alvis Joins B.E. Meyers & Co.
REDMOND, Wash., Sept. 20, 2012 — Optoelectronic device manufacturer B.E. Meyers & Co. Inc. has appointed Michael Alvis as vice president of business development.
Alvis, a retired US Army colonel whose 26-year career spanned command of infantry, cavalry and combat aviation units, will be responsible for strategies and execution leading to US and international market expansion and revenue growth.
He worked at ITT Corp. for eight years, most recently as executive vice president of ITT Defense International and as vice president for international development at ITT Exelis. He also previously served as vice president of strategy and business development for ITT Night Vision. Before that, he held positions at Thales North America and at L3 Communications.
