Energy-efficient lighting provider Amerlux LLC has supplied the city of Los Angeles with its Avista LED light engines as part of a major downtown retrofit project. Before the retrofit project, the city illuminated its streets with 250-W high-pressure sodium lamps at a 25-ft mounting height with a 100-ft spacing. Amerlux placed 600 60-W Avista LED luminaires, saving taxpayers almost 80 percent in energy costs and providing better color rendering for enhanced visibility, safety and security.
