BELFAST, UK, March 31, 2010 — Andor Technology plc, a scientific imaging, spectroscopy solutions and microscopy systems provider, announced the appointment of Microlat S.L.R. of Buenos Aires, Argentina, as its new distributor in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.

The exclusive distribution agreement will combine the two companies’ complementary strengths to deliver advanced scientific imaging solutions.

The latter company, a distributor of microscopy and digital imaging analysis equipment and solutions, will offer its clients the former company’s electron-multiplying CCD and next-generation scientific CMOS detectors.

Additionally, it will distribute the Irish company’s EMCCD cameras, which are utilized in advanced optical microscopy techniques, including single-molecule membrane TIRF, confocal spinning disk, PALM and STORM, to enable researchers to directly observe molecular interactions within living cells.
