Atlas Copco Group Acquires Perceptron, Spurs Partnership with ISRA VISION
Sweden’s Atlas Copco Group, an industrial manufacturer and parent company of industrial image processing and 3D vision systems developer Isra Vision AG, has acquired Perceptron, an American provider of 3D automated measurement systems. The acquisition expands Atlas Copco Group’s Machine Vision Solutions business unit, and builds on a strategic partnership formed with ISRA Vision earlier this year.
The formal acquisition supports forthcoming innovations to Industry 4.0, according to a press release from Isra Vision. Perceptron and Isra Vision, the press release said, will combine their technologies to develop 3D products for in-line, at-line, and off-line applications. The transaction supports an expanded market share in America and the Asia Pacific region.
