Averna, a test and quality solutions provider, has acquired ProNES Automation GmbH. ProNES develops customized automated quality solutions and offers in-line and end-of-line inspections for manufactured products including batteries. Per the deal, ProNES owner and CEO Jochen Weber will join the leadership team and oversee Averna sales and operations in Germany from the Landau office.

According to data provided by Averna, the global battery manufacturing equipment market is projected to grow to around $31 billion by 2030, at an annual growth rate of 31.63% from 2023. An increase in electric vehicles and growing demand for energy storage is driving demand for lithium-ion batteries. By adding an office in Landau, Averna said it is well positioned to provide automated test, vision inspection, and precision assembly solutions to its German clients. The company said that the location is well suited to serve Germany’s medical technology industry in particular.
