Ayar Labs Names CEO; Bia Analytical Taps Executives: People in the News: 12/13/2023

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 13, 2023 — Ayar Labs appointed company co-founder and CTO Mark Wade CEO. Prior to founding Ayar, Wade and his co-founders invented technology at MIT and the University of California from 2010 to 2015 that led to the formation of the silicon photonics company. Wade succeeds Charles Wuischpard, who will continue to serve in an advisory capacity before he transitions out of the company in mid-January.

BELFAST, Northern Ireland — In situ test solutions developer Bia Analytical appointed Simon Cole CEO and Gareth Burns CTO. Cole has worked in the software and technology industry for over 25 years and was a founder and most recently CEO of Automated Intelligence Ltd. Burns has co-founded and held the position of CTO at Selazar and CapRelase.

GLASGOW, Scotland — Clinical-stage diagnostics company Dxcover’s co-founder, Matthew Baker, transitioned from CTO to CEO and co-founder David Palmer transitioned from chief data scientist to CTO. Current CEO Mark Hegarty transitioned to the role of business adviser. Baker is the inventor of Dxcover’s Liquid Biopsy Platform and has been responsible for technical research and development, IP portfolio, and clinical studies execution and strategy.

AUSTIN, Texas — The U.S. branch of GOEPEL Electronics named David Kalaidjian national sales development manager. Kalaidjian will be responsible for leading and developing the national sales team, implementing effective sales strategies, and cultivating new business opportunities across North America.

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — SPIE named Takashige Omatsu editor-in-chief of the Journal of Nanophotonics. Omatsu, a professor at Chiba University’s Graduate School of Engineering and Molecular Chirality Research Center, succeeds Ali Adibi.
