Biophotonic Solutions Names Vittorio Fossati-Bellani CEO
Industry veteran Dr. Vittorio Fossati-Bellani has been named CEO of automated laser-pulse compression firm Biophotonic Solutions Inc.
"We are excited that such a well-known industry mover and shaker in the areas of ultrafast lasers and industrial lasers has joined our ranks, and will lead the company as our technology expands in both scientific and industrial applications," said Dr. Marcos Dantus, the company's founder and chief technology officer.
Fossati-Bellani was most recently a consultant to companies in the photonics industry, advising on the photovoltaics, electrical storage, sensing and medical markets, as well as providing guidance on equity partnerships and acquisitions.
He also served as acting CEO for NP Photonics Inc. and vice president of marketing for AdValue Photonics Inc.
Prior to that, Fossati-Bellani held senior executive positions at Laser Operations LLC, Pyrophotonics Lasers Inc. and Dilas Inc. In addition, he spent more than 25 years working at Coherent Inc., holding leadership positions that included chief marketing officer, as well as president and general manager of the company’s semiconductor group.
Biophotonic Solutions develops multiphoton intrapulse interference phase scan (MIIPS) technology for compressing and shaping femtosecond laser pulses for precision imaging, materials processing and other applications in industry, science, medicine and defense.
