Bruker Biosciences Establishes Business Unit in Australia
Dec 2006
Bruker Biosciences Corp. announced that it will launch a new Bruker AXS business unit, Bruker Biosciences Pty Ltd., in Australia on Jan. 1, 2007. Bruker AXS, a provider of life science, materials research and industrial x-ray analysis tools, has been represented in Australia by its longstanding distributor, Sietronics Pty Ltd. Bruker Biosciences said its AXS business unit will take the company forward with its already established instrument base and brand name and increase its presence in the rapidly expanding x-ray diffraction, x-ray fluorescence and optical emission spectrometers markets. Bruker said Sietronics Pty Ltd. will continue to provide business management and service resources. Bruker Biosciences Pty Ltd. is based in the Australian states of Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia.

The emission of light or other electromagnetic radiation of longer wavelengths by a substance as a result of the absorption of some other radiation of shorter wavelengths, provided the emission continues only as long as the stimulus producing it is maintained. In other words, fluorescence is the luminescence that persists for less than about 10-8 s after excitation.
Pertaining to optics and the phenomena of light.
The technology of generating and harnessing light and other forms of radiant energy whose quantum unit is the photon. The science includes light emission, transmission, deflection, amplification and detection by optical components and instruments, lasers and other light sources, fiber optics, electro-optical instrumentation, related hardware and electronics, and sophisticated systems. The range of applications of photonics extends from energy generation to detection to communications and...
A kind of spectrograph in which some form of detector, other than a photographic film, is used to measure the distribution of radiation in a particular wavelength region.
