Hopkinton, Mass.-based Caliper Life Sciences Inc., a drug discovery and life sciences research tool and services provider, has completed the sale of Xenogen Biosciences Corp. of Cranbury, N.J., a subsidiary that provides in vivo preclinical research services, to Taconic Farms Inc. for approximately $11 million. The subsidiary was acquired by the former company as part of its 2006 acquisition of Xenogen Corp. According to Caliper, the transaction will strengthen its Ivis imaging tools business.
