Digital industrial camera provider Allied Vision Technologies GmbH of Ahrensburg has acquired 100 percent of the shares of camera manufacturer VDS Vosskühler of Osnabrück, both in Germany. Effective immediately, the acquisition increases Allied Vision’s portfolio with the addition of near-IR and long-wavelength IR camera technologies as well as active camera cooling. Incorporated in 1985, VDS specializes in the market segment outside of the visible light in the near-IR and long-wavelength IR/thermography spectra. It also develops CCD cameras for visible light, focusing on customer-specific variations for OEMs.
