Coherent Selects NKT Photonics Fibers for Laser Platform

BIRKERØD, Denmark, Feb. 6, 2013 — NKT Photonics will supply a high-power fiber amplifier module to Coherent Inc. for use in its Daytona subnanoscecond pulsed laser for microelectronics applications.

The amplifier design is based on photonic crystal fiber technology pioneered by NKT Photonics a decade ago.

Coherent of Santa Clara, Calif., manufactures laser systems and solutions for the commercial and scientific research markets.
