CORNING, N.Y., Dec. 3 -- Corning Inc. announced several changes to its executive management team. In the first of these changes -- all of which are scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2000 -- the company appointed John W. Loose, 57, president and CEO. Loose will head up operations and bear responsibility for the performance of all of Corning's business units, while continuing to serve as chairman of the Siecor Corp. and of Corning International Corp.
Corning also named a new vice chairman. Norman E. Prior to these new roles, Loose and Garrity served as Corning's co-chief operating officers.
The company appointed two executive vice presidents as well. Charles W. Flaws, 50, also moved from senior vice president to executive vice president.
