CryLas Raffling Lasers to Photonics Researchers

BERLIN, Sept. 7, 2012 — Diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) laser maker CryLas GmbH will award two of its products to university or public institute scientists working in photonics research via an online raffle, the company announced recently.

Any member of a university- or public institute-based research team can enter the drawing, the company said. The two winners will receive either a passively Q-switched 355-nm or 1064-nm laser. The goal is to "support dedicated scientists in achieving their goals in research in the field of photonics," the company said.

CryLas makes DPSS lasers in the ultraviolet, visible and infrared ranges for applications in biotechnology, analytics, imaging, sensor systems and micromachining.

The deadline to enter the contest is Oct. 31; the winners will be announced Nov. 5.
