Optical Coating Laboratory Inc., (OCLI), a JDS Uniphase company, and Ocean Optics Inc., of Dunedin, Fla., have made an exclusive supply agreement to provide sequential color recapture (SCR) color wheels to the digital light processing projection display market. OCLI will sell SCR wheels immediately and begin volume production under license from Ocean Optics. Manufacture of SCR color wheels requires precise deposition and patterning of a series of dichroic thin films. OCLI and Ocean Optics have collaborated for three years in SCR product development. SCR wheels using Ocean Optics and OCLI capabilities will be sold as part of the OCLI suite of microdisplay projection components. OCLI recently expanded its color wheel production capacity in Penang, Malaysia.   . . .   Therma-Wave Inc., a developer of process control metrology systems used in the manufacture of semiconductors, announced it has received follow-on orders for multiple tools from its Opti-Probe thin film measurement line of products from a semiconductor manufacturer in China.   . . .   The US Food and Drug Administration has approved the ThinPrep Imaging System, made by Cytyc Corp., of Boxborough, Mass., for commercial use. The ThinPrep Imaging System (Imager) uses computer imaging technology to assist in primary cervical cancer screening of the company's ThinPrep Pap Test slides.
